Unemployment benefits

A person may be liable to more than one unemployment (WW) benefit depending on their personal employment history. The number of WW benefits involved is approximately 15 thousand in each month under review. If a person qualifies for more than one WW benefit, the data of all benefits are included.

So-called zero benefits are not included. Benefits can be reduced to zero due to deductions or sanctions. Deductions are imposed, if there is sufficient income from temporary work. According to Dutch legislation, sanctions can be imposed, if the requirements for continuation of the benefit are not met.
