National Voters Survey

Prior to the snap elections of 22 November, a random sample survey was held in the context of the National Voters Survey (NKO) among 4 thousand potential voters in the age category 18 years and older. They were asked what political party they intended to vote for, their interest in politics and their opinions about political parties and politicians. After the elections, the respondents were revisited and interviewed about the political party they had voted for and their motives.

The question about major problems on the national level was asked during the first interview. The answers to this ‘open’ question are processed and classified according to the 16 main problems.
The NKO 2006 was conducted by Statistics Netherlands in cooperation with the Foundation for Electoral Research (SKON).
