Land drainage rates
Revenues from the land drainage rates are used to pay for the costs of ensuring that there is enough, but not too little or too much water. The following rates are charged:
- The rates for residents, i.e. everyone who lives in the water board catchment area. The rate is charged to the main resident of each dwelling as on 1 January.
- The rates for developed land are charged to everyone who owns a building in the water board catchment area. The amount is based on the value of the property under the real estate appraisal act (WOZ).
- The rates for undeveloped land are charged to everyone who owns land in the water board catchment area.
