Sectors in senior secondary vocational education (mbo)

Originally, there were four sectors in senior secondary vocational education (mbo): agriculture, technology, economics and ‘health and personal care and welfare’. In school year 2005/’06 the combination ‘technology and economics’ was added.

A sector comprises various courses aimed at certain types of occupation. These are mainly occupations in the agricultural, technological, economic and administrative areas and in the care sector.

In this article the combination ‘technology and economics’ is not included in the graphs, as the share of students doing this combination was only 0.5 percent and the total number of students receiving a diploma in this sector was only 0.1 percent.
