Roadside verges

The flora in the verges is measured by the National Monitoring Network Flora, which also measures the flora of woods, wooded banks, dunes, heathland, meadows and moorland. Every four years, the network counts all botanical species in approximately 10 thousand fixed locations. Provinces, Public and Water Management and the National Environmental Assessment Agency (MNP) also participate in the network, which was started in 1999 in a limited number of provinces. Since 2002, all provinces participate.
