This article distinguishes between household members of employed persons (employees and self-employed) and household members of unemployed (pensioners and income support recipients). The socio-economic group is defined by the main source of income of the household. All income sources of all household members are compared to determine the main contributor to the total household income. The household and its members are classified by socio-economic group on the basis of the main contributor.
