Average income level 1

To calculate the average income per region, the average income per household was calculated. To calculate this, the average disposable income is standardised, by dividing it by an equivalence factor. This equivalence factor reflects the advantages of scale which are a consequence of sharing a household. The population in homes and institutions, and student households are left out of account in this calculation.
In 2004 the average income level per household for the whole of the Netherlands was 20.2 thousand euro. This is the standardised income of a household to which someone belongs.
