Table explanation
This table summarizes the income of private households in the Carribean Netherlands; the islands of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Households are differentiated according to composition, age of the main earner, main source of income and income level. The income level quartile groups are determined per island, since the income differences between the islands make a classification for the Caribbean Netherlands as a total difficult to interpret.
Population:
The population consists of the people in private households with income observed. The reference date for the years 2011 – 2022 is December 31 of the year under review. The reference date for the years from 2023 onwards is January 1st of the year under review.
Data is available starting from:
2011.
Status of the figures:
The figures for 2011 to 2021 are final.
The figures for 2022 to 2024 are provisional.
Changes July 15, 2026:
In the previous version of this table, quartile values for the Caribbean Netherlands as a total are mistakenly published for the years 2016 to 2022. This has been corrected in this version.
The reference date for defining the population has from year 2023 onwards, with the start of the poverty statistics and in alignment with the EU-NL income- and poverty statistics, been shifted from December 31 to January 1st of the year under review. This had a slightly increasing effect on the figures.
Work-related benefits are from 2022 onwards classified as such. As a result, a shift is observable within the feature main source of income. The size of the group transfer income recipients has increased, and likewise the income.
The revised provisional figures for 2022 and the provisional figures for 2023 and 2024 are added.
When will new figures be published?
New figures are expected in September 2027.
