Description topics
- Physical activity, 12 years or older
- The Short Questionnaire to Assess Health enhancing physical activity (SQUASH) is part of the Health Interview Survey. This questionnaire was developed by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). The SQUASH aims to provide a complete picture of physical activity, e.g. frequency, duration and intensity of the following types of physical activities: 1 activities during travelling between home and work or home and school 2 activities at school or at work 3 domestic activities 4 sports
5 other leisure activities.
For the years from 2012 onwards, some assumptions in the calculation of the subtopics within physical activity have been adjusted. This is done in consultation with the RIVM in the context of the Public Health Monitor 2012, a study in which physical activity is also required. Consequently, the figures on physical activity from 2012 onwards are not always comparable with the figures of the previous years.- Travelling between home/work,home/school
- Average weekly number of minutes of physical activity during travelling between home and work or home and school (age: 12 years or older).
- Activities in school or at work
- Average weekly number of minutes of physical activity during activities in school or at work (age: 12 years or older).
