establishments in the Netherlands. The figures can be broken
down by region, star rating and type of accommodation.

Status of the figures: all figures are definite.

Description topics

Leisure accommodation
These are establishments in the Netherlands that provide accommodation
of one of the following types:
- camp sites
- holiday parks
- group accommodation
The term group accommodation includes accommodation for groups at
farms, camps, large holiday homes, children's holiday homes, nature
camps, stables and sailing/outdoor adventure organisations.
Camp sites
A camp site is an area with at least one washroom and toilet facilities
where people can stay overnight in tents, touring and on-site caravans,
camper vans, and cabins.
Number of establishments
Number of open establishments
An open establishment is open for guests in the month concerned.
An establishment may be closed for certain seasons, because of
repairs/renovation or because of personal circumstances.
Total sleeping-places
For camp sites, each pitch intended for one tent/caravan counts as five
sleeping-places.
Sleeping-places in open establishments
For camp sites, each pitch intended for one tent/caravan counts as five
sleeping-places. An open establishment is open for guests in the month
concerned. An establishment may be closed for certain seasons, because
of repairs/renovation or because of personal circumstances.
