Description topics
- Total building costs
- Input indices on building costs are based on the costs of labour and
building materials. The series is calculated from the development of
labour costs in construction and cost of materials in residential
building. Changes in the cost of building materials, general costs, profit
and risk are not included in the input index. The results of the
production statistics 1995 have been used to weight the labour and
material components. - Wages
- The wage index is based on the latest development of wages in the
construction sector. If recent data are not available, the wage per
working hour as laid down in the collective agreement, is used. - Building materials
- A distinction is made between three types of dwellings, i.e. flats,
detached houses and terraced houses. The building materials for these
three types is weighted, resulting in a general price index for materials
used in residential building.
