Are my personal data identifiable when they are collected by Statistics Netherlands (CBS)?
When we convert raw data into statistics, we remove any personal data that could lead to individuals being identified at the earliest possible stage. This means that the files we use for our research contain no names, addresses or citizen service numbers (BSN), for instance. Statistics Netherlands uses the data solely for statistical and scientific purposes. This precludes the use of individual data for fiscal, administrative or and legal purposes, and neither do we use the data for marketing purposes.
