Dissertation on integration of typologies of Dutch municipalities according to the process characteristic population development and structural characteristics such as degree of urbanization.

Based on the results of the ‘Population and Housing Census 197’ a number of monographs have been compiled. Two of them aimed at a reconsideration of the classification of Dutch municipalities by urbanization.

The project resulted in a classification on the basis of the process characteristic of population development and in a classification on the basis of structural characteristics.

An integrated process-structure approach had not yet been realized in the framework of that project. This study is such an approach.
