Students can gain experience abroad as part of their higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) education. This involves spending time abroad for a short period or longer period. In addition, students may also participate in online activities organised by educational institutions abroad, such as collaborative projects or online courses.
The point at which students can do this varies between different types of education. In higher professional education (HBO) Bachelor’s programmes, it is usually in the third year. In university education, this is usually possible in the third (and final) year of the Bachelor’s programme or during the Master’s programme.
