This article concerns actual exhaust emissions. Actual emissions from road traffic are based on the number of kilometres driven within Dutch territory and emissions analyses carried out by the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). Actual emissions may differ in some respects from the calculations made by the Netherlands with respect to the Kyoto Protocol (IPCC emissions), and on which Dutch climate legislation is based (for more information, see CBS’s Greenhouse Gas Dossier).
