Geriatric rehabilitative care is intended for frail elderly people. It is provided in order to improve the recipient’s recovery prospects and/or their functioning and social participation. People usually receive geriatric rehabilitative care after being admitted to hospital for specialist medical treatment following a stroke, a broken bone, or knee or hip replacement surgery, for example.
