Youth assistance

Assistance and care as defined by the Youth Act. This involves assistance and care for young people and their parents in relation to mental health, psychosocial and/or behavioural problems, a learning difficulty, or parenting difficulties on the part of the parents. The assistance is intended for children and young people up to the age of 18 and can be extended to 23. If the young person stays overnight at the youth support institution, the foster family or the family home, this is referred to as residential youth assistance.
