Electrically heated homes use a heat pump or other heating source which runs on electricity. Some of these homes are fully electrically heated (all-electric). In that case, they do not consume any natural gas at all. There are also ‘hybrid’ homes, which are primarily electrically heated but do consume some natural gas for supplemental heating, cooking, or hot water.
