Mercosur is an economic partnership organisation that includes the South American countries of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Its purpose is to promote trade between its member states. It also facilitates far-reaching trade agreements with other countries and trade blocks, such as the EU. Bolivia has been a Mercosur member since July 2024 and has until 2028 to meet all requirements. Bolivia was not involved in the negotiations for the EU-Mercosur agreement, however, and has therefore not been included in this report.
