To determine how many migrants came to the Netherlands due to the situation in Ukraine, all immigrants were considered who came from Ukraine and registered with a Dutch municipality from 24 February 2022 onwards, i.e. the date when Russia invaded Ukraine. The number further includes immigrants who have arrived via another country and hold Ukrainian citizenship. Not all of these immigrants have Ukrainian nationality. People with other nationalities who were lawfully residing in Ukraine before 24 February and whose identity and nationality can be established may register in the Netherlands. Which of these immigrants have since emigrated again was also verified.
