Long-term Care Act (Wlz)

Long-term care based on the Long-term Care Act (Wlz) is intended for people who need continuous 24-hour care close by and/or permanent monitoring. This type of care is provided in roughly two different ways.

1. Care in kind while residing in an institution
- nursing or care home
- disability care institution
- mental health care institution

2. Home care (personal budget, modular or full care package)
The data on long-term care users have been obtained from the Central Administration Office (CAK). These data are recorded to determine the amount of statutory personal contribution for long-term care that applies to all persons aged 18 and over.
