Why is SBI mandatory and why does CBS participate in European standards?
NACE, the European classification system, is mandatory for all EU member states to enable the compilation of comparable and integrable figures across the European Union. SBI is based on NACE, and so changes at European level necessitate changes to the Dutch system.
