When will CBS and the Chamber of Commerce switch to SBI 2025?

In the weekend of 6-7 September 2025, the Chamber of Commerce adopted the new SBI 2025 for the Dutch Business Register. From then on, all existing registrations will have an SBI 2025 code and all new registrations will be assigned an SBI 2025 code.

Due to the large number of surveys it conducts, CBS will make a phased transition to SBI 2025 between 2026 and 2029. From the end of that period, all CBS surveys will be conducted on the basis of SBI 2025. This phased transition is in line with the European guidelines issued by Eurostat.
