Why did Statistics Netherlands (CBS) contact me, specifically?
Your name and address were chosen at random from a large database that includes all households in the Netherlands: the Personal Records Database. This database is maintained by municipalities and contains information about residents, such as their date of birth, address details and marital status. For some research, we not only make use of the Personal Records Database, but also selected data from other registers, such as the policy records of the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) (which include all employment relationships, remuneration, social benefits, annuities and pensions). If you are selected to take part in a study, this is always as a random member of a sample.
