Is it compulsory to take part in Statistics Netherlands (CBS) surveys?

Individuals are not legally required to take part, but of course, we hope that you will be willing to do so. If you have been invited to take part, this means that you are part of a sample and as such you represent many other residents of the Netherlands. In order to get an accurate picture of our society as possible, it is important that everybody in the sample takes part in the survey.

Companies are almost always obliged to take part: this is a legal requirement (Statistics Netherlands Act).
