Campaign St Eustatius

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) monitors population trends in the Caribbean Netherlands, also on St Eustatius.
The population grew by 88 thousand in 2024, mainly due to immigration. More than four times as many people from outside the island came to live here than the number of babies born.
If we look at the period between 2011-2016, we see that the largest group of immigrants arrived from Central and South America and in second place were immigrants from the European Netherlands.
When data on a growing or declining population is available, it helps in deciding whether to plan for capacity in hospitals, homes for the elderly and daycare centers.
