Moderate and severe overweight

The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure for underweight or overweight defined as a person’s weight in kilogrammes divided by the square of their height in metres [kg/m2]. It is a universally accepted measure to determine whether an adult person aged 20 years or older is overweight or underweight. Different limits apply to persons under the age of 20.

If an individual’s BMI ranges between 25.0 kg/m2 and 30.0 kg/m2, they have moderate overweight.
If an individual’s BMI >= 30.0 kg/m2, they have severe overweight (obesity).
