Average inflation rate just over 3 percent since 1900
The annual inflation rate in the Netherlands averaged 3.2 percent over the twentieth century. There were peaks and troughs in the past century.
Dutch inflation rate stable at 2.3 percent
According to the most recent figures, Dutch inflation remained unchanged in September.
Unemployment rate soaring
Unemployment averaged 373 thousand (4.8 percent of the Dutch labour force) in the period April-June 2009, as against 4.0 percent in the same period in 2008.
Less substantial decrease in employment
There were 82 thousand fewer jobs of employees in the second quarter of 2010 than in the second quarter of 2009; a decline of 1.0 percent.

Inflation remained stable in August. Just like in July, consumer prices were on average 2.3 percent up from one year previously.
