This means that the re-use of the content of this site is permitted, provided Statistics Netherlands is cited as the source. Re-use is not permitted wherever that particular part (e.g. a document) contains a remark that it is covered by copyright protection.

Re-use of content

Naming of the source is mandatory whenever website content is being reproduced. This means that you are obliged to state that the data were sourced from CBS. The re-use and citation of the content must not create the impression that CBS endorses the purport of the derivative work or that CBS agrees with the content of your work.

The Creative Commons attribution does not apply to:

  • Rights to the design and style of the website. This means, among other things, that the impression must in no way be created that your own website originates from CBS or that it is linked to the CBS website.
  • Patent and trademark rights This includes, for example, the CBS logo. You may not use the CBS logo, a logo that closely resembles it, or a logo based on it, without the permission of CBS.
  • The rights of others, such as portrait rights or privacy rights.
  • Photographic images copyrighted by the photographer and/or the agency.

Copying and reusing of copyrighted photographic images in CBS external communications copyrighted by the photographer and/or the agency is not permitted. Licences to use these photos can be purchased from the relevant photographer or agency.
However, CBS articles and social media posts containing photos can be reposted, shared and linked on social media and websites in their entirety.
