This dossier provides access to the information Statistics Netherlands publishes about people with a foreign background. Most information is available about the themes population, education, income, labour and social security. There is also information about the themes housing, health and crime, but at a more limited scale. Depending on the subject, there is data available on the various regional levels, such as provinces, municipalities and neighbourhoods.
The various groups of people presented in the tables, often differ from the native Dutch population in the structure of their background characteristics such as sex, age and education. For instance, on 1 January 2010 the native Dutch population was on average 12 years older than the population with a non-western background. Please keep this in mind when you compare the figures.
