Women nowadays are more highly educated, up to age 45 even more highly educated than men.

From January to July 2016, the Netherlands is to hold the presidency of the Council of Europe. To mark this occasion, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) has published The Netherlands on the European Scale 2016. This publication shows how the Netherlands is performing in relation to the other EU member states. In which areas are we top of the class? On 8 and 9 April 2011, an international Expert Meeting took place on the monitoring and assessment of elections. It was the first time election observers from the academic world, politics and international organisations met to discuss Election Observation Missions (EOMs). In twenty chapters, this book provides an overview of decision processes, role, and interpretation of findings of the 30 thousand international observers deployed in EOMs since 1995.
