Non-tariff measures (NTMs)

Policy measures not being tariffs, which may have an economic effect on international trade. The NTMs may have an effect on the product due to changes in the quantity, the price or both. They can roughly be divided into two groups. The first group are measures based on product-specific terms, e.g. demands on quality or technical prescriptions. The second group of measures are not product-specific, e.g. quotas, local content prescriptions, distribution, etc.
