Further growth investments

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports that the volume of investments in tangible fixed assets grew by 5.3 percent in August 2016 relative to the same month last year. The year-on-year increase is about the same as in the preceding month. Investments in residential property almost entirely account for the growth. Investments in lorries and machinery also rose, but investments in passenger cars and infrastructural projects declined.

Investment data have not been adjusted for calendar effects. August 2016 has two working days more than August 2015, but the annual holiday period for construction workers mainly fell in August this year. According to the CBS Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands is more favourable in October than in September and August.
