Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports that the volume of investments in tangible fixed assets grew by 5.3 percent in July 2016 relative to the same month last year. The year-on-year increase is less substantial than in the preceding month. Investments in residential property entirely account for the growth. Investments in passenger cars and machinery declined.

Investment data have not been adjusted for calendar effects. July 2016 has two working days less than July 2015. This year, however, the annual construction workers’ holiday fell mostly in August. According to the CBS Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands is less favourable in September than in July.
