Using a regression analysis, it is possible to include all independent variables, in this case levels of satisfaction with a number of aspects of life, at the same time. The question was then studied which aspects of satisfaction were most strongly related to general life satisfaction. In addition, whether differences among levels observed remain after adjustments are made for background characteristics such as gender, age and ethnic origin.
