German population data were adjusted considerably in 2011. Therefore, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) has used adjusted figures over the period 2000-2014 provided by Destatis, the federal statistical office of Germany. These corrections are also incorporated in EU population figures of all 28 member states. In other countries too, population data were subject to trend breaks or corrections, e.g. in Poland, Hungary, Luxembourg, France and Italy, but for these countries new figures were not available.
