Statistics Netherlands (CBS) announced that the volume of investments in tangible fixed assets grew by 13.2 percent in August 2015 relative to August 2014. The increase is mainly due to considerably higher investments in residential property and infrastructural projects. According to the Statistics Netherlands’ Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands in September and October is just as favourable as in August. 

Investment figures are not adjusted for calendar effects. August 2015 had the same number of working days as August 2014.

Higher investments in residential property and infrastructural projects

Just as in previous months, investments in residential property grew most noticeably. Investments in infrastructural projects, machinery and equipment and passenger cars also increased significantly in August.

Investment climate in September and October just as favourable as in August

According to the Statistics Netherlands’ Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands is just as favourable in September and October as in August. By means of six indicators, the Investment Radar shows whether the investment climate has become more or less favourable.

In October, Dutch consumers were more optimistic and the mood among Dutch manufacturers about their order positions was more positive than in September. Dutch year-on-year share prices, on the other hand, rose less rapidly.
