Substantial increase investments

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) announced today that the volume of investment in tangible fixed assets was 22.2 percent up in June 2015 from June 2014. The increase was mainly caused by substantially higher investments in residential property. In June investments grew faster than in the previous months.

Investment figures are not adjusted for calendar effects. June 2015 had two working days more than June 2014.

Investments in residential property again substantially higher

Just as in previous months, investments in residential property grew noticeably in June. Investments in infrastructural projects, passenger cars, lorries and machinery also increased.

Investment climate less favourable in August

According to the Statistics Netherlands’ Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands is less favourable in August than in June and July. By means of six indicators, the Investment Radar shows whether the investment climate has become more or less favourable. The slight deterioration in August compared to July is due to the less substantial growth of exports on an annual basis. On the other hand, the quoted value of Dutch shares on an annual basis and the capacity utilisation rate of manufacturing industry were higher than in the preceding month.
