Statistics Netherlands (CBS) announced today that the volume of investments in tangible fixed assets in July 2015 grew by 10 percent on July 2014. This increase is mainly due to considerably higher investments in residential property and passenger cars.

Investment figures are not adjusted for calendar effects. July 2015 had the same number of working days as July 2014.

Investments in tangible fixed assets (volume)

Higher investments in residential property especially

Just as in previous months, investments in residential property grew most noticeably. Investments in infrastructural projects, passenger cars and machinery also increased in July.

Investment climate less favourable in September

According to the Statistics Netherlands’ Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands is less favourable in September than in July, but slightly more favourable than in August.  By means of six indicators, the Investment Radar shows whether the investment climate has become more or less favourable. The slight improvement in September compared to August is due to the more substantial growth of exports on an annual basis. On the other hand, the quoted value of Dutch shares on an annual basis was lower than in the preceding month.
