The term hybrid covers any car that uses a combination of a battery-driven electric motor and a conventional internal combustion engine to move itself along. In this article, cars with only electric propulsion are also included in the category hybrid cars. In StatLine, hybrids and fully electric cars are referred to by the term ‘electric’, because the registered main fuel is electricity.
