Singles

Singles are people who do not share their household with a partner, and in the Family and fertility survey answer that they are not in a steady relationship.
The survey asked 18-79 year-olds how they saw their future: a relationship with a man or a woman, a relationship but not in the short-term, or definitely no relationship. People who said they did not want a steady relationship were subsequently asked why: because they have had bad experiences in previous relationships, because they do not have high expectations of relationships, because they think relationships cause problems, because they want to remain free, because they want to stay on their own with their children, or another reason. They were allowed to choose more than one answer option.
