Private sector investments more than 4 percent up

The volume of private sector investments in tangible fixed assets was 4.3 percent up in March 2014 from March 2013. The growth was more substantial than in the preceding two months. Private sector investments have been higher than one year previously for six months now.

The increase in March is mainly due to higher investments in computers and machinery. Private sector investments in these tangible fixed assets were substantially higher than in March 2013.

Figures have not been adjusted for the effects of the number of working days. March 2014 had the same number of working days as March 2013.

On the basis of six indicators, the Investment Radar shows whether circumstances for Dutch private sector investments have improved or deteriorated. According to the Investment Radar for May 2014, the investment climate in the Netherlands has improved marginally.
