SDE stands for Renewable Energy Incentive Scheme. The scheme was introduced in 2008 and is the follow-up of the Scheme for the Environmental Quality of Electricity Production (MEP). New applications for the MEP scheme could be submitted until August 2006. The period between submitting the application and realisation of the project is needed to make plans, apply for permits and deal with the request for subsidy, finding funds and construction of the project. Extensive projects require a longer period to complete.
