Intermunicipal corporations

The term intermunicipal corporation refers to collaboration between various levels of government, e.g. municipal and provincial authorities. In the province of South Holland, the urban regions of Haaglanden and Rotterdam are responsible for public transport in and around The Hague and Rotterdam. In the province of North Holland, the urban district of Amsterdam is responsible for regional public transport and in the province of Utrecht the intermunicipal corporation of the Region Utrecht.
