Early school-leavers

People aged 18 to 24 years who have left education without a basic qualification, i.e. a diploma in senior secondary general education (havo), pre-university education (vwo), or level 2 of senior secondary vocational education (mbo).
The figures refer to the total volume of early school-leavers aged 18 to 24 years. This is the total number of people in this age group in the Netherlands without a basic qualification. The figures are based on the Labour Force Survey. They do not refer to the annual number of new early school-leavers. New early school-leavers are people who leave education without a basic qualification in a certain year; these figures are based on education registrations.
