Decline private sector investments less substantial

The volume of private sector investments in tangible fixed assets was 7.0 percent down in August 2013 from August 2012. The decline was less substantial than in July, when private sector investments were 9.0 percent down from one year previously. August is the second month in a row, in which the decline in private sector investments became smaller.

August 2013 had one working day less than August 2012, whereas July 2013 had one working day more than July 2012. Figures on private sector investments have not been adjusted for the effect of the number of working days.

By means of six indicators, the Investment Radar shows whether circumstances for Dutch private sector investments have improved or deteriorated. According to the Investment Radar, the investment climate has improved in October 2013.
