Unemployment down
Adjusted for seasonal variation, 683 thousand people in the Netherlands were unemployed in August 2013, 11 thousand down on July. Prior to this decline, unemployment had been risen almost continuously for twenty-four months. In August, 8.6 percent of the Dutch labour force were unemployed.
Seasonally adjusted unemployment
Youth unemployment was considerably lower in August than in July. Unemployment among 25 to 44-year-olds and among older people remained fairly stable.
