Remaining life expectancy at 65

The number of years a 65-year-old person is expected to live taking into account the mortality risks which apply for all separate ages in one particular year. In fact, life expectancy is an overall mortality risk for that particular year.
If a person has reached a certain age, their remaining life expectancy plus their age is higher than their life expectancy at birth, because the risk of dying prior to that age is irrelevant for the calculation of the remaining life expectancy.
