Terms of trade improved

Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved in January 2013 relative to January 2012. Prices of exported goods were 0.6 percent higher, prices of imported goods rose by 0.1 percent. In the previous eleven months, terms of trade had deteriorated continually compared to one year previously.

Export prices for food products rose most notably. Import prices of these products were also higher than twelve months previously, but import prices of basic metal products and petroleum were down from January 2012.
