The household income is divided into ten equal groups and refers to the total household income and not to the incomes of individual household members. The household income is standardised to facilitate comparison between households of different size and composition. The standardisation of the disposable household income is corrected for size and composition of the household. The number of adults and children (by age) is taken into account.
